High hopes for Cairo Wood Show (14 March, 2012)
Cairo Wood Show 2012 will play a “fundamental” role in forming the market for timber and woodworking machinery in Africa, according to the organisers.
Strategic Marketing and Exhibitions said a new phase of economic prosperity and political stability had followed last year’s revolution, positioning Cairo Wood Show as the most promising wood industry exhibition in the Middle East.
The October 18-21 exhibition will feature more than 200 international exhibitors spread over more than 5,000m² of display space.
Egypt’s wood products industry is worth US$5bn a year, while furniture production is worth US$3bn. The country imports all of its wood, panels, machinery and tools.
