Georgia-Pacific concentrates production of fibreboard
The US-American company Georgia-Pacific has shut down the fibreboard-panel plant at its site in Jarratt, Virginia, on 1 November. According to a report published in the Richmond Times Dispatch daily newspaper, the company's work force of 79 was informed about the disinvestment plans on 9 October. At the same time, the company made it clear that the two insulating-panel plants in Jarratt and in Diboll, Texas, were each producing at only roughly 50% of capacity. With the transfer of production from the Jarratt plant to Diboll, the Texan plant is to produce in future at full capacity again.
