The positive trend in Russian plywood output posted in the first six months of 2013 continued to play out in the third quarter. At that time the country’s total plywood production increased by 3.8 %. Within the third quarter, the month of July saw the largest production growth rate of 5.1 % and September saw the smallest of 2.2 %. The Russian Statistical Agency in Moscow reports that production was higher than the same time frame last year in every month between January and September 2013. A total of 2.5m m³ of hardwood and softwood plywood was made by Russian mills during that period.
