Smartphones influence Moelven’s new website (20 March, 2012)

Nordic timber and glulam producer Moelven Industrier ASA has revamped its website with today’s “impatient” smartphone user in mind.

“The introduction of mobile platforms such as smartphones and tablets has hugely changed the way people use the internet,” said Moelven project manager Hilde Berg.

“It is no longer normal to spend much time on a website. The information architecture of Moelven’s website has therefore been tailored for a modern, effective and rather impatient user.”

New website tools include a product selector to help customers find the product they’re looking for based on purpose, colour, timber type and other factors.

Ms Berg said the new website, an internet-based inspiration magazine called Gode Room, and the company’s presence in various social media all helped to welcome existing and future customers in “the best possible way”.
